MOLLY

LPCC-S, LSW

The idea of processing and overcoming trauma can be overwhelming. I have a background working with survivors of trauma, including victims of domestic violence and intimate partner violence. I am certified as a Level 2 Trauma and Loss Consultant and have experience working with children who have experienced trauma, grief and loss. I use this training to help my clients develop stronger self-esteem, find a "safe space" they can use to stay calm and I am trained to process trauma themes such as worry, hurt, revenge, grief/loss and feelings of abandonment.

Children, adolescents and families at times need support as they encounter change or move through developmental milestones. My experience working with children and young adults allows me to help others navigate through those difficulties and foster growth. I cater my approach to each client based on their level of need. The focus of sessions can vary, including processing adjustments or environmental changes, increasing impulse control by slowing down movements and the sequence of the movements, developing relaxation skills such as deep breathing and respect for yourself and others, developing social skills, identifying anger triggers and increasing coping skills. Play therapy can be a powerful component of individual sessions.

I encourage families to come together as part of the process and am able to facilitate family therapy sessions. Family therapy can provide skill building, promote positive relationships, address communication deficits and offer a place to safely address conflicts.
